Jupiter 8 Now a Jupiter 4 :(

After years of faithful service my Roland Jupiter 8 synthesizer has sadly become a Jupiter 4. :(

I turned it on the other day and half the notes make only a weird whooshing sound anymore. It seems half the oscillators are misbehaving resulting in every other note played being the aforementioned WHOOSH.

I found a bit of a workaround by only playing in the lower section in split more. The 4 allocated oscillators sound fine and all the 4 bad ones are up in the top split. I can then address the full range of keys via an external keyboard (my J8 has the Kenton MIDI upgrade).

Still, the J8 it’s pretty much the favorite thing I’ve ever owned, and I hate to see it in bad repair. Plus it’d be nice to play more than 4 notes at a time again. I think maybe these folks can get it going again.
