Wow, has it only been a week since I left home? It seems so much longer. I’ve read that travelers often experience time differently as things seem to slow down once you get out of your daily routine. I’m not sure why this is, but perhaps it’s because you actually notice everything again. In the 9 to 5 grind you’ve probably seen all your surroundings a thousands times. Same home, same office, same commute, same people, etc. They all become invisible and blur right by. You mind goes on a kind of autopilot and time seems to move quickly because you’re not really experiencing much of what’s around you. But get into unfamiliar surroundings and your senses come back alive and your sense of being alive with it. Things seem to slow down because you mind now has to really pay attention and process everything it comes across. Just a theory.
